We are delighted to introduce ICMA's innovative and exciting syllabuses. Independent Contemporary Music Awards (founded 1985) is proud to have pioneered and established modern music examinations, long before other Boards.

ICMA's examinations are designed to inspire and motivate both amateur and professional musicians, using a mix of popular, traditional and serious styles of music, accessible to all within a flexible and user-friendly system.

Alongside the usual instruments, syllabuses are available for Keyboard, Contemporary Vocals, Popular Vocals, Leisure Guitar, Rock Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Kit Drumming - all to Diploma level.

Examinations are held throughout the year at times agreed with the applicant, so that candidates may perform at their peak, and without disruption to children's education. We even examine on Sundays and in the evenings, if required.

Applicants may use their own studio, home, school, church, or local hall for examinations, enabling candidates to perform in familiar surroundings and on familiar instruments.

To encourage candidates to demonstrate their strengths, the supplementary tests of Sight Reading and Aural are part of a wider options system from which candidates choose.

Whilst maintaining high standards, examinations are held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, where candidates interact with trained, qualified, experienced and sympathetic examiners.
